Celtic’s transfer business has, as I’m sure I have already stated, been the subject of much speculation this summer already.

As the Hoops actively look for a left back (allegedly), one player that is said to be on the Paradise radar is that of Erick Otieno.

The Kenyan left back is reportedly being scouted by Celtic and according to HITC, AIK Sporting Director Henrik Jurelius was asked if he had received any bids for the player.

Curtly, Jurelius replied. “No.

“We have some players who have done well and we expect there to be interest in these players during the transfer window.

“(Otieno) is a player who has delivered at a very high level. He has had high peaks during the year and it is a bit surprising that there is not more interest in Otieno.

“It’s always a tough decision (whether or not to sell). But we have to make that decision. It’s very difficult to speculate on a deal when you have no idea about the size or the bids.”

Otieno, at 25 years old, has 34 caps for Kenya and also has 2 and a half years left to run on his contract.

Valued at £1.3m, he wouldn’t break the bank and he does fit that ready made mould that Ange Postecoglou likes.
