Celtic has a mini ‘injury crisis’.

That’s according to the hacks in the media who probably cannot wait to see us drop points this weekend.

One thing that cannot be denied is that Cameron Carter-Vickers is a sore miss and if he is unavailable for this weekend’s clash then Ange Postecoglou may have a dilemma on his hands.

With Carl Starfelt just set to return, it is doubtful if he will be fit enough to last 90 minutes on Saturday and after the poor performance of Stephen Welsh and Moritz Jenz at St Mirren, can they both be trusted to partner up again on Saturday?

But could all this have been avoided though? Could we have brought in a quick fix for no fee over the last couple of months?

What about someone like Edgar lé?

The Portuguese defender is currently a free agent and, like Jason Denayer, seems to be biding his time in selecting his next club.

A former Barcelona youth graduate, he made only one appearance for the Catalan giants before moving onto Villareal and then Belaneses.

After just twelve appearances for the club, Lille splashed out €3m for him in 2017 and after two seasons moved to Trabzonspor in Turkey in 2019.

His contract expired this summer after he missed most of the season with an anterior cruciate knee injury which was successfully operated on in January.

Now, nine months later, he searching for a new club and he is available on a free.

Capped by Portugal, in his final season with Trabzonspor he boasted some impressive stats (SofaScore).

In seventeen appearances, lé helped his side to seven clean sheets with an average of 1.2 interceptions per game.

With a passing accuracy of 92% and 3.5 clearances per game, lé would fit perfectly into Ange’s style of building from the back and at 28 years old, he is still to enter the peak of his years.

Obviously he would have taken time to get up to speed with fitness, but if he was signed earlier and with no fee involved, it would have been a risk-free signing?

It’s the dreaded international break. So take away the boredom and try our *BRAND NEW* quiz. Who are Celtic’s most capped players from these countries?
