Tom Rogic has spoken about his decision to sign a new deal with Celtic that will see him at the club for the prime years of his career.
Earlier this summer worries were growing that someone was going to be able to poach the 25-year-old from us but instead he decided to extend his stay.
Certainly, I’m looking forward to seeing more of his long-range efforts hit the net next year and it would appear that he is more than ready to kick-on.
As quoted by the Celtic Star, he’s made it clear why he signed on:
“I’m working under a manager who I feel is challenging me every day.
“I certainly feel like i’m learning. I’m happy, I’m settled, I think I’ve played my best football in the past two seasons at the club and under the manager there.
“So it’s been a stable place for me to play, develop, win trophies, enjoy success and be tested in a lot of big games.”
Let’s hope others read this and follow suit.
This is exactly what we offer players when they join or commit their future and, you have to ask, what more could they want from their careers?
Perhaps they’d get more money elsewhere but winning things for a massive club isn’t what most get to do and Rogic clearly knows that.
