RB Leipzig are facing a double injury blow ahead of their trip to Celtic Park on Thursday evening, with Emil Forsberg ruled out and Jean-Kevin Augustin a major doubt.

The pair, both rated as worth £22.5m by Transfermarkt, are two of the team’s premier attacking talents and them being unavailable for definitely be a boost for Brendan Rodgers’ side.

As quoted by The Scottish Sun, Leipzig boss Ralph Rangnick revealed this weekend:

Emil will probably be out until after the international break. The Celtic game will come too soon for him.

We also have a problem with Jean-Kevin, who has a stomach muscle strain. We don’t know how long that could keep him out for.

Forsberg is a creative force and in 2016/17 provided an incredible 22 assists in Bundesliga action. So far this term he’s scored three and assisted three in 11 appearances.

Augustin played in the 2-0 win over the Hoops on the last matchday and has scored seven goals in total this season from 17 appearances.

Leipzig were in excellent form during the weekend’s action, winning 3-0 away to Hertha BSC.

Thursday’s match is a huge occasion at Celtic Park, with defeat putting an end to our hopes of qualifying for the knockout stages and win potentially putting us back on track for European football after Christmas.

Any advantage, such as this double injury, we can get is a bonus!
