Jota and Cameron Carter-Vickers are now two transfers we Celtic fans expect to go through this week.

With news breaking today from Anthony Joseph claiming a deal for Jota will be done by the end of the week and a social media post creating all sorts of rumours about Cameron Carter-Vickers, it seems that as this week draws to a close, Celtic fans will be turning their attention to who they think will be the next addition to the squad.

Antoine Semenyo is a player Vital Celtic reported on back in February where it seemed as if the club was looking to bring the talented forward to Paradise.

Plying his trade in the second tier of English football for Bristol City, Semenyo has scored eight times in thirty appearances and with twelve assists, his form has certainly caught the attention of the Hoops.

That’s according to Ghana Soccer who claim that the 22 year old is being targeted by the club and are also looking to offload Albian Ajeti to help part fund the move.

The report claims that, bizarrely, Semenyo is being targeted as a replacement for Ajeti which, considering Ajeti has hardly featured this season, seems a strange statement to make.

Personally, I think Semenyo may be too expensive for Celtic.

Prices of £15m were being quoted at the turn of the year and I cannot see the club making that kind of outlay especially if the Jota and CCV rumours are to be believed.

His goal scoring record is not good enough.

I trust Ange to bring the right players in. Close season is always full of interesting stories on transfer potentials like this, but I’ll wait until they’re confirmed by the club before letting my interest peak.
