Stuart Armstrong has left the club officially and is now a Southampton player for the coming 2018/19 season.

A player with great ability, he will be missed by us though I don’t think he is irreplaceable and I always struggle to understand why you’d leave our club when trophies are guaranteed.

Anyway, you have to wish him well for the part he played at our club and he has posted this heartfelt message on Instagram reflecting on his time at Paradise:

The Verdict

It’s always sad to see one of our better players leave the club and Armstrong will be missed, of course.

There are capable replacements at the club, though, and once a player wants to leave Celtic I don’t see there being much point trying to keep them or dwelling on it too much.

Good luck, Stuart, but I’m sure we’ll be more than fine going into next season without you around.
