Defender Dedryck Boyata has again declared himself unfit to face a European opponent after rejoining the first-team squad in training and Celtic fans aren’t happy.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers spoke to reporters ahead of Thursday night’s clash with FK Suduva in Lithuania, revealing that the Belgian had declared himself not ready for match action.
It comes after the player was allowed to re-join the first-team squad in training this week, having apparently held clear the air talks with Rodgers and Hoops captain Scott Brown.
It’s fair to say that from a fan’s perspective it is a pretty disappointing turn of events, especially considering there appears to be no movement with regards to player leaving for another club before the end of the transfer window.
Supporters are completely fed up with the situation and took to Twitter to share their thoughts this evening…

A don't care if he's the best we have (god help us) I don't want Boyata to play for Celtic again

So Boyata is again putting himself first and shitting on his team mates by “declaring himself unfit.” Selfish bastard. I don’t care what clear the air talks he had with BR and Broony, he doesn’t give a fuck about our club. Punt him ASAP Celtic.

Boyata declaring "unfit" for the game tomorrow even looking likely he was getting a second chance.. dirty snake get the fuck out of our club now

How can you train the last few days with the first team… and declare YOURSELF not fit. If your training at an intensity then coaches/physio’s would see this ‘injury’. Boyata needs to go now poison in our squad! @CelticFC 💚🍀🇮🇪

I’d be delighted if @CelticFC finance director deemed himself not quite in the right frame of mind to pay Dedryk Boyata for the past month
