Celtic have had a good start to the transfer window in the end and now it is time to build on that and fire towards the business end of the campaign.

The winter break allows for the Bhoys to regroup and recharge ahead of going for the treble-treble and the Europa League in the coming months.

For sure, we probably needed it after a tough season so far and it is safe to say we have also needed some new faces to come in.

That said, then, after the Daily Mail’s report made it clear that James McCarthy is available for a move from Everton this month, I wondered whether our fans would get behind a deal for him.

Indeed, I asked our fellow Bhoys whether they’d back such a decision and it seems as though many clearly would:

This is no surprise given his quality, then, and so he’d be a Premier League arrival we can get behind if we go for him.

  • It would be a great move for all concerned. James had believed that Celtic was to be his natural club after leaving Hamilton. We fobbed about and weren’t prepared to pay even half of what he was worth in the belief that being a Celtic boy James would sign before he was off to Wigan where he excelled. Bring him home now if we’re serious about the 8, never mind the 10.
