It hasn’t been a quiet week for Celtic Football Club.

With the league season starting last weekend, a UEFA Champions League qualifying tie against AEK Athens on Wednesday and a Tynecastle test tomorrow, the action is coming thick and fast, but it’s off field drama that most supporters have been thinking about.

Brendan Rodgers has given a series of interviews and press conferences over the past few days that have had Celtic fans debating for hours.

It’s clear that the manager hasn’t exactly been overjoyed with the transfer dealings of the club this summer and heading into the last few weeks on the transfer window has called on the club to add quality signings to replace players that have left, such as Stuart Armstrong and Patrick Roberts.

While Rodgers’ honesty with fans is welcome, it’s also been frustrating considering the consistent negative headlines.

These supporters have taken to Twitter over the last couple of days to share their thoughts on it all.

What are your thoughts on Brendan Rodgers comments this week? Do you back him 100%? Has it all been blown out of proportion? Let us know in the comments…

  • board don’t deserve Brenden he has transformed the club is it a bit of jealously because of his felling with fans seen this before it will end with brendon leaving then who we get as it will be very hard to get anyone of note when they see what happened to our top man

  • Typical celtic biscuit tin mentality, there was huns saying we are standing still, they are wrong it’s 2 steps back we are going. Not replacing Armstrong and Paddy as the bare minimum is a Joke.
I bet the board rub their hands when the window closes, with the loan players THEY have brought in.
We should’ve been strengthening for the CL but now it’s looking more like EL and feck all new signings.
I for one will not renew next season if Brendan walks away due to the board not splashing the cash. Will they enjoy half empty Thursday night E.L, attendances??? Next year’s budget will be loan players only.
