Celtic moved three points clear at the top of the table with a comfortable 3-0 victory at second-placed Aberdeen.

Defender Kieran Tierney fired them in front early on and recalled striker Moussa Dembele added another before the break.

Dembele later headed a decisive third goal as the defending champions extended their unbeaten domestic run to an incredible 61 games.

Graeme Shinnie had actually twice called goalkeeper Craig Gordon into action from distance during the initial exchanges.

But then it was the visitors absolutely taking control with Tierney crashing in off the underside of the crossbar from Dembele’s pass.

Tom Rogic also curled a couple of efforts at goalkeeper Joe Lewis before Stuart Armstrong was narrowly wide from a free-kick on the edge of the area.

However, Celtic extended their advantage when Tierney chased down the left and delivered for Dembele to side-foot into the net.

Midfielder Armstrong soon continued their threat after the interval, while his later pass had James Forrest denied by Lewis and Dembele’s follow-up also being blocked.

Dembele still went on to claim his second of the evening when Dedryck Boyata headed back Armstrong’s 61st minute free-kick – with the visitors thereon cruising towards another maximum points at the expense of their nearest challengers.
