Champions Celtic take on second-placed Aberdeen at Pittodrie later this evening (kick-off 7.45pm).

The Hoops are once again without suspended captain Scott Brown, who is completing a two-match ban, while leading marskman Moussa Dembele remains sidelined with a hamstring injury.

However, Swedish defender Mikael Lustig is likely to return having been rested, as the visitors continue to protect their incredible unbeaten domestic record this season.

“If it is like all the other games we’ve had against them – we’ve played Aberdeen four times this season already – it will be a very tough game,” manager Brendan Rodgers admitted to BBC Scotland. “I really enjoyed it the last time we went up there. It was competitive, but we came through with a clean sheet.

“So we anticipate a tough game, as they have been in all the other games,” he added. “My main objective is the Scottish Cup final. However, we go into Friday’s game with a big determination to win.”

Home skipper Ryan Jack [groin] and Peter Pawlett [Achilles] are both ruled out while on loan midfielder Ryan Christie is ineligible to face his parent club.

Teenagers Dean Campbell and Sebastian Ross are therefore brought into the squad.
