Celtic fans appear to be absolutely done with defender Dedryck Boyata after his agent implied he had no intention of playing for the Hoops again following a transfer dispute.

As reported by The Scottish Sun, Jacques Liechtenstein has spoken strongly about Boyata’s future, declaring his client injured and claiming he will be unable to play in the final year of his contract at the club, in order not to risk his career.

The player is apparently upset that Celtic rejected a bid from Fulham for him last week and looks to have downed tools.

It demonstrates a real lack of professionalism and is another demonstration of how difficult it can be for clubs to navigate modern football, with all the power now with the players.

Hoops supporters have been left fuming with the latest developments and took to Twitter at the weekend to share their thoughts on Boyata’s situation…

Should Celtic try to sell Dedryck Boyata as soon as possible? Let us know in the comments below…

  • I can’t believe we turned down £10 million for him. Unlikely that anyone will touch him now and we’ll be left to rue the day and pay his wages till his contract is up. Put him with the under 18’s and on a strict fitness regime.

  • This transfer window has been a disaster for Celtic ,I cannot believe that the people who run the club could be so inept at making the obvious deals that were their for us.Dermot Desmond must get involved in sorting this mess out ,John McGinn wanted to sign for us we didn’t get him at what would have been a reasonable fee, Boyata doesn’t want to play for us and we turn down what would have been a great return for the club.
