Video game company Konami announced today that Celtic will be included as a partner club in their new Pro Evolution Soccer 2019 title.

The deal means the Hoops will be featured in a big way when the game is released at the end of August, with Celtic Park included as a venue and the squad represented in-game using 3D scanning systems that take pictures of the players from multiple angles.

As quoted by The Scotsman, head of business development at the club Gordon Kaye said of the deal:

We are delighted to be partnering with Konami at such an exciting time for the PES Series. The gameplay and player detail in PES 2019 is simply stunning and we have no doubt Celtic fans will be excited at the prospect of seeing the Double Treble Champions emulated in such a realistic way.

An official PES 2019 event will take place taking place at Celtic Park on Thursday as part of a ‘pre-season tour’ to celebrate the release.

The news comes after Konami confirmed that the Scottish Premiership will be a full licensed league.

Supporters are delighted by the news and can’t wait to get their hands on the finished product.
