Celtic Word On The Tweet

“An absolute joke”, “the country’s worst referee” – Clancy has a nightmare and loads of Celtic fans give him both barrels

Celtic dropped points for the first time in this season’s domestic campaign and surprisingly it came at the hands of struggling Hibernian in a 1-1 draw at Easter Road.

Neil Lennon named a strong starting XI with Olivier Ntcham getting a starting berth after impressing in the mid-week win over Patrick Thistle, scoring a double in the process. More of Ntcham later.

The Parkhead side has been scoring goals for fun this season and with Glasgow rivals, Rangers, putting six past Hibs, few would’ve bet against the Bhoys doing something similar.

Despite the surprising result, little has been made of the performance of Celtic but more so the man in the middle, Kevin Clancy.

Failing to award two penalties potentially cost Celtic all three points, he also failed to handle the incident involving Olivier Ntcham with any real authority, he was lucky to escape with a yellow card but two wrongs don’t make a right.

Fans took to twitter to express their anger at the ineptitude of Clancy’s display.

Clancy had an appalling game and these tweets are the ones that aren’t X-rated, the most damning indictment is that football fans from across Scotland all condemned the whistlers performance not just Hibs and Celtic. When both managers think you have cost them the game you know you’ve had a stinker!
