And so it begins again with Rangers players

You’d think after a while that Rangers players would learn not to mouth off at the head of a new campaign but it looks as though they’ve failed to do so once more.

Only last year we had Pedro Caixinha and Bruno Alves giving it large that they were going to win the league and, well, look what happened.

Now, then, Jon Flanagan is the latest to pipe up with him joining the Gers after being released by former club Liverpool.

Indeed, he’s said that they are going for the title:

“The Scottish league is massive and one that we are going to try to push on and get the title.

“It’s a fresh start. It’s a platform for me to build on. The past is the past. It’s now time for a fresh start and I can’t wait to get going.”

Well, I suppose they have to say that, don’t they? But I’d be massively, massively shocked if they won the league this season or in the coming years.

The Verdict

Flanagan was a decent player but I think he’s lost it a bit and that’s why he’s ended up at Ibrox rather than Brendan going after him.

His last spell at Bolton wasn’t exactly brilliant and I think him spouting off might come back to haunt the club.
