This is going to happen more and more often this month as the fixtures continue to come thick and fast.
With Celtic already suffering from a triple injury blow, it seems that Ange Postecoglou has another devastating one to contend with.
As half time kick off approached, there was a notable change in the team as they emerged from the tunnel as James Forrest was missing and Liel Abada took his place.
Speaking post match on BBC Sportsound, the Celtic gaffer lifted the lid on Forrest’s latest injury worry, “We will just wait and see.
“He felt a bit tight in his hamstring.
“We decided that with the game the way it was going it was better to take him off at half-time.
“It was good for Liel to get out there as well.”
This could be a hammer blow for Celtic and Forrest as the winger has only just returned from a lengthy lay off and would have been hoping for a lengthy run in the team.
With Celtic’s attacking options hampered with the absence of the ever excellent Jota, the Hoops fans will be hoping that Postecoglou’s early intervention will be enough to avoid a lengthy absence for the Celtic stalwart.
If you were “paying attention” there were a couple of occasions during the first half when Forrest was doing little stretches and looked uncomfortable and not as mobile as he normally would be, I for one was expecting a first half substitution. The intensive high level of training is not helping with the number of groin strains as was discussed on Sportsound prematch
