Conor Hazard made his international debut this weekend as he played for Northern Ireland against Costa Rica in a friendly.

They obviously aren’t going to Russia but the South American side is and so that is why this game took place over there.

Surely, then, it’ll prove a good experience for the young stopper with him also looking to compete to be the future of his nation’s options between the sticks as he competes with Bailey Peacock-Farrell.

The Verdict

Undoubtedly a proud moment for him and I’m sure he’ll be looking for plenty more of that in the future.

He’ll also be looking to force his way into our starting line-up in the years to come but I can honestly say that, at the moment, I don’t think he will.

Scott Bain would see to have things on lockdown for the near future at least.
