I had to listen to this to make sure I got this right.

And when I listened for the second time I could not believe what I was hearing from this pundit.

This talk of Kyogo is getting so out of hand it’s not funny.

The narrative that he is a cheat  is one that sticks in my throat but not from opposing fans, because that is what they do, it’s the nature of rivalry, but from former pro’s of the game to cast these aspersions just doesn’t sit right with me.

Especially when the former pro has a platform on a national radio station to continue this narrative.

I’m going to say it one more time, KYOGO HAS NEVER TRIED TO GAIN AN ADVANTAGE OR FEIGN INJURY.

But speaking on The Go Radio Football Show, former Scotland ladies player Leanne Crichton was next up to take a pot shot at Kyogo and what she said after she took her turn was totally astonishing, “Listen, don’t get me wrong, Kyogo is a top talent.

“I’ve loved watching him this season. I think he’s been a brilliant addition to the Scottish League, but I would need to agree there has been moments that he has gone down too easily.

“And I think especially when you’re a new player and you come into the league there’s probably more of a microscope on him and looking at his performance and his behaviours and the way he acts.

“You don’t want that to become a reputation. Not when you’re as talented as he is,

“He is by no means a soft player to play against. I think he gives us good as he gets.

“But any player that is going down to easily is particularly embarrassing. I don’t think there’s any need for it.”

Davie Provan then asked Crichton if she had ever taken a dive and her reply was astounding, “I would like to not think so.

“I think there’s been a couple of moments in my career when I have been cute in terms of winning penalties in certain areas but I would never dive at all.

“It’s just not my nature at all.

“I think there’s moments in football that you can probably draw the foul or certainly be smart and how you use your body and that’s where again, defenders and midfielders need to be smart with the types of tackles that they make but to go down at the slightest wee touch or brush of the shoulder, certainly not for me.”

So, ‘cute in terms of winning penalties‘? Like gaining an advantage? And what does she mean by cute?

Was she fouled? Was she not? Did she buy the foul by leaving a leg in there? Ergo gaining an advantage?

Stones and glass houses eh?
