Remember last week when I reported in Fabrizio Romano’s tweet about Josip Juranovic possibly leaving in the summer?

Yeah I do. Because a Celtic supporter told me I should have been sacked for that story.

“Clickbait” was another accusation that was being thrown around as well.

Its par for the course in this job and you roll with those kinds of comments but it is clear now that there is some kind of interest in the fans favourite and now it is being reported that La Liga giants Athletico Madrid are ‘monitoring’ the situation.

Anthony Joseph took to Twitter to report this story (wonder if he is being accused of clickbait now?) and what he said made a lot of sense on Twitter and it will resonate with a lot of supporters.

Taking to Twitter, Joseph said, “UPDATE: Celtic are aware that many clubs are interested in signing right-back Josip Juranovic.

“However, they have not received any offers for the Croatia international and they do not want to sell him this summer.

“It would take a huge bid from a club for that stance to change.

Joseph then goes on to say, “Worth noting that Celtic are in a very strong position here:

“1. Celtic do not need to sell this summer – they are in the #UCL next season and guaranteed the £40m riches that come with it.

“2. Juranovic still has four years left on his contract.”

Bang on. Celtic are in control here. Not the media.

Not some transfer guru and no matter how much ‘interest’ or reported, it means nothing until a concrete bid is placed.
