Earlier this afternoon Celtic were back in Premiership action as we hosted Dundee at Parkhead.

Manager Brendan Rodgers was looking to consolidate our position back at the top of the Scottish table and youngster Mikey Johnston continued to impress as Odsonne Edouard’s replacement, and he helped himself to another two goals either side of the halftime break to give us the advantage.

It was a big moment for the 19-year-old lad as he hit his first senior brace four days after netting his first professional goal and he may well have given the gaffer a question when it comes to January strengthening.

Filip Benkovic added a third to tie the points up and making it a ninth straight home win.

We remain top for Christmas!

Speaking to the BBC following the fulltime whistle, Rodgers described it as one of his most ‘enjoyable performances’ since he joined the club two and a half years ago.

“I just said to the players that, in my two-and-a-half years here, it was one of my most enjoyable performances. At this time of the year, sometimes the team can look leggy and a bit tired, but our pressing was very good. We didn’t really give Dundee the chance to build any sort of sequence of passing.”
