Plenty of Celtic fans do not think youngster Mikey Johnston is ready for a first-team place after watching him in action for the Hoops recently.

The 19-year-old started yesterday’s win against Dundee but did not perform well before being substituted off for Jonny Hayes on the hour mark.

The homegrown attacking midfielder also got 45 minutes of action at home to Aberdeen last week, so fans have had a good chance to see where the player is at with his development.

Sadly, the verdict from many isn’t good, with loads of fans feeling he is still not quite ready for regular first-team action in the Hoops.

There is no doubt he has potential but perhaps a loan move for the player is the best option at this point.

If he can get 30+ games under his belt next season then it could go a long way towards proving he has what it takes to be a Celtic regular.

The current situation is doing him no good at all, with supporters simply growing frustrated with his contributions.

These fans took to Twitter over the weekend to share their thoughts on his current status in the squad…
