Celtic are absolutely relentless at the moment.

After almost going a full calendar year unbeaten under Ange Postecoglou, only St Mirren have bested us in their impressive 2-0 win in Paisley.

For that defeat though, we had a makeshift centre-half pairing in Moritz Jenz and Stephen Welsh and we also had a number of players off the boil and The Buddies capitalised on that.

But since then, we have been imperious.

Winning every game except the Glasgow Derby at Ibrox, Ange Postecoglou’s men have scored a stunning 68 goals and conceded just 15 since that fateful day back in September last year.

So what will it take for teams to be able to stop Celtic? To even pick a point never mind all three?

BBC pundit Steven Thompson laid out exactly what it will take and, to be honest, I feel sorry for our rivals.

Speaking pre-match as Celtic where about to face St Johnstone on BBC Sportsound, Thompson said, “The big question is how do you approach Celtic?

“I don’t have the answer, nobody else really seems to have the answer.

“When you play against Celtic you need luck. You need unbelievable concentration, discipline and organisation and you need your players to all have an eight plus out of 10.

“So there’s an awful lot of contributing factors to winning a game against Celtic.

“It’s incredibly difficult.”

When you look at what Thompson is saying here, he is effectively conceding that teams have absolutely no control over what happens when they face us.

We are in full control regardless of who we are facing.

And when you look at what Thompson outlays above, when teams come up against us, they must already have it in the back of their heads that a defeat is almost a foregone conclusion.
