Midfielder Youssouf Mulumbu’s fine performance wasn’t enough to help Celtic avoid defeat on Thursday night in Austria but he did make some fans happy.
The Hoops failed to pick up a positive result away to RB Salzburg in UEFA Europa League action, losing 3-1 on the night after a rather predictable second half collapse, having initially went ahead just a few minutes into the match through Odsonne Edouard.
Mulumbu was the only player to really stand-out for Celtic, his defensive midfield work in the first half a particular highlight of what was a fairly grim evening.
With Scott Brown missing through injury we needed someone to step up in that position and the new signing, starting just his second match for the Hoops, put Olivier Ntcham to shame.
Fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on his performance…

At this rate, when Brown comes back he might line up beside Mulumbu. Ntcham due a wee sit on the bench till he gets his head right
