Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic bounced back from a difficult couple of weeks at the club with comfortable progression into the next round of the Scottish League Cup on Saturday, winning 3-1 against Partick Thistle.
The pressure was definitely on the Hoops for the knock-out encounter, a third defeat in a row would have raised serious questions.
However, goals from Leigh Griffiths, Moussa Dembele and Tom Rogic ensured the side went through, despite the manager making a number of first-team changes.
One of those was giving Mikey Johnston a rare chance in the starting eleven. The 19-year-old had previously only started on two occasions.
He was a livewire throughout his time on the pitch, although as you’d expect his decision making isn’t quite there in the final third, choosing to take players on or shoot when passes were more viable.
He’ll learn that with time and fans were encouraged with what they saw from the young attacker, taking to Twitter to share their thoughts earlier today.
Has he done enough to convince Rodgers he deserves more first-team chances, or would a loan move be more viable for him this season?

That's where Mikey Johnston can learn a thing or two. It's not always about running with the ball, get the head up a play people in like Forrest just did

Wee Mikey Johnston needs to learn to release rather than shoot every time. We could be a few goals up by now. Then he'd get his goal HH #Celtic
