When Ange Postecoglou signed for Celtic, he promised a ‘culture change’ would be required at the club for him to be able to get the type of football he wants on show at Celtic Park.

We have seen flashes of this intermittently at Parkhead against St Mirren, Dundee and AZ Alkmaar where the team produced some swashbuckling football but Saturday’s victory against Motherwell at Fir Park did produce a moment of beauty that will become commonplace for the Hoops fans as Postecoglou continues to embed his style of football into the team.

David Turnbull’s finish was exquisite on Saturday. Absolutely no doubt about it but the best part of that goal was the build up.

Seven passes. No interceptions. One shot. Goal.

And it was captured beautifully by Celtic TV

With Ange starting to get his full compliment of players back it is frightening to think what this team will produce when James Forrest, Chris Julien and Karamoko Dembele return from injury.

What we are seeing is the principles of Postecoglou’s footballing mantra now starting to take shape.

Build up from the back, although sometimes can leave you with your heart beating out of your chest, brilliant use of the inverted wing back role as Bolingoli pulls defenders to allow the space for Turnbull to take his chance.

Simple. Effective. Beautiful.

And we haven’t even hit top gear yet.

January’s transfer window is almost upon us and with Celtic expected to make big moves into the J League, the final half of the season is starting to look a lot more promising for the Hoops fans.
