FIFA has declared that the 2019/20 season should be extended indefinitely which will allow Celtic to stroll to the title once football resumes in Scotland.
The Scottish Sun reports on FIFA’s stance which backs up UEFA‘s that every attempt should be made to complete the fixtures of the current season before awarding titles and European places, with the governing body issuing a not-so-thinly veiled threat that entry into the Europa League and Champions League could be denied for countries ignoring their advice.
Ally McCoist has also re-iterated his stance that the leagues have to be completed regardless of a club’s lead at the top of the table, pointing to the opposite end as being of more importance with regards to sporting integrity, not wholly surprising given his allegiances.
Celtic fans took to Twitter in reposes to the announcement, happy that their club can secure 9-in-a-row and put beyond any doubt how merited the triumph would be.

Don’t want the title handed to us like this as it would never be seen as a proper win, do I really hope we get to finish this season. But if and if we do play again it will be behind closed door s that’s 100%

Celtic can’t really lose, they have a huge lead at the top of the table and if anything, it is only going to get bigger but, if fixtures can’t be completed, they will rightly be awarded a league in which they have dominated from start to finish, the only downside would be if they didn’t get the chance to complete an incredible fourth successive treble if the Scottish Cup was to be cancelled.
