Celtic captain Scott Brown has been speaking to Talksport about Brendan Rodgers and the impact he has had on Leicester City since his arrival. He also spoke about his time at Parkhead and Neil Lennon’s subsequent appointment.
Rodgers recently gave an interview in The Daily Record in which he explained his decision to leave the Hoops, which still rankles amongst Celtic fans to this day.
When asked about the Midlands club’s current form and Rodgers, Brown said: “Leicester have been fantastic this season and it’s all down to Brendan and his back-room staff. It shows you what a top quality manager he is and how lucky we were to have him at Celtic.”
“Brendan did incredible for us, he showed us things and a way we could play and took everyone to a new level, but Neil has come in yet again and has done exactly the same thing. It’s been a flawless transition, and the manager loves the club.”
“He’s bounced off [what Rodgers achieved], but he’s also got his own ideas about how we want to play too. As long as we keep winning things everyone will be happy”.
Were Celtic lucky to have Brendan Rodgers?
Yes
No
Brown’s comments are out of sync with the Parkhead faithful who still feel betrayed and let-down by Rodgers on his decision to leave at a crucial time in the season. Celtic may have been “lucky to have him” but it’s not how these fans currently feel about the former Liverpool boss…
Doesn’t matter how he dresses it up. He walked out on the club and fans who trusted in him and his word. Football is football but your word should be your bond.

He was running out of ideas anyway and was clueless in Europe. Handy £10m and agree it has suited all parties.

Glad he moved. Lenny is far better in europe.

A snake and a rat. Can’t stand the sight of him now.

He just doesn’t get it.
He will never be forgiven for the timing of his departure.— Garngadbhoy (@shamrockbhoy7) November 12, 2019
Despite winning seven consecutive trophies, these fans are glad to see the back of Rodgers rather than looking back with fondness on his time at the club.
