Celtic manager Neil Lennon believes the return from injury of skipper Scott Brown can lead a concerted assault on the title.
“The first thing he did was go in for a really robust challenge and won the ball and lifted the team” – Neil Lennon |
His availability after ten weeks out with an ankle injury comes at a good time as the Hoops will be without South Korean duo Ki Sung-Yueng and Cha Du-Ri due to Asian Cup commitments after their Boxing Day clash with St Johnstone.
And Lennon believes Brown’s comeback will really lift the rest of his squad and could eventually prove a decisive factor.
“He`s a hugely influential player for us,” Lennon told the Glasgow Evening Times. “He came on and gave us that extra impetus and drive when we needed it.
“The first thing he did was go in for a really robust challenge and won the ball and lifted the team,” he added. “I think that rubs off on the rest of the players as well.”
