BT Sport pundit Chris Sutton has been revelling in Celtic’s Scottish League Cup victory, wasting no time in using the win to shut down his broadcasting colleague Robbie Savage.

Savage, as you’ll probably know, is enjoying following the progress of Rangers this season, clearly smitten by Steven Gerrard and his first job in management.

He was very excited earlier today after the Ibrox side went top of the Scottish Premiership, with Celtic having a game in hand of course, aiming a jibe at former Hoops forward Sutton.

Sutton had the last laugh however just a few hours later, reminding Savage that he knows little about celebrating trophies, which is what Celtic are all about in recent seasons.

Celtic have now won an incredible seven consecutive domestic trophies, with Brendan Rodgers not yet losing a single cup game since taking charge of the club back in 2016.

It’s a level of success beyond Savage’s comprehension so it was nice to Sutton remind him of that fact.

Gerrard’s side may have done well putting a little bit of pressure on the Hoops heading into a busy December schedule, but they haven’t won anything yet and haven’t come close to defeating us for years.

Don’t run before you can walk and don’t gloat before you’ve won anything!
