It would seem as though we’re on the brink of seeing Rangers get a new manager in the shape of Steven Gerrard.

A surprising name when it first came about as a possibility, he’s gradually become the firm favourite and I’d now be slightly shocked if he didn’t take it.

Whether or not he’s a success, who’s to say, but I certainly have my doubts he’ll get that riff-raff club anywhere near us for the foreseeable.

He told BT Sport last night that he’s having talks with them, though, and it appears plenty of our fans have reacted to that:

The Verdict

He’s a player I always rated but if he goes there as manager he’s still going to get some stick regardless.

I do sense a fair few of us feel as though he shouldn’t risk his own career in going there but, at the end of the day, it is his call and he’ll only have himself to blame if it goes pear-shaped.

  • Smoke and mirrors, king hanging around Liverpool like a bad smell touting his club as a feeder club to Liverpool. Gerrard being sent to run the show, (reluctantly), he won’t really be leaving them, king gets fringe and youth players disguised as loans, Liverpool get first pick of any up and coming youngsters and a base in Scotland for buttons, king, for no outlay hailed as a hero. This is the only scenario that makes any sense.
