Celtic and St Johnstone remained scoreless as the league leaders were held at Celtic Park.

Midfielder Tom Rogic made a welcome return to action having been sidelined for the previous couple of months due to injury.

Meanwhile, Callum McGregor was named as captain in the absence of the suspended Scott Brown.

Kristoffer Ajer’s early header was turned aside by goalkeeper Alan Mannus, although it was the visitors close through David Wotherspoon nodding Blair Alston’s delivery just over.

Richard Foster then tried his luck from distance, with Odsonne Edouard sending a free-kick reply wide.

Edouard also saw an early second-half effort charged down following decent work by Scott Sinclair.

Charly Musonda was then twice frustrated by Mannus, despite the visitors still being a threat on the break.

Sinclair later called Mannus into further action and substitute Moussa Dembele headed wide as the deadlock remained.

The Hoops therefore increase their advantage at the top of the table to nine points.
