Celtic required a late Callum McGregor equaliser to avoid a first league defeat of the season to Neil Lennon’s Hibernian at Celtic Park.

McGregor had earlier given them a first-half lead but Hibs midfielder John McGinn struck twice after the interval.

The Hoops were ahead when Moussa Dembele laid off Kieran Tierney’s fifteenth-minute through pass and McGregor drove into the net.

Midfielder Tom Rogic then produced a decent save from Ross Laidlaw; although the hosts were pegged back early in the second-half when McGinn despatched a low finish into the corner from the edge of the area.

Goalkeeper Craig Gordon then showed brilliant reactions from Steven Whittaker, until being beaten for a second time by McGinn’s firm effort with thirteen minutes later.

The leaders were behind only three minutes, though, McGregor calmly slotting in an equaliser from inside the box before substitute Scott Sinclair went close to a winner.
