Celtic secured a 3-1 victory after Kilmarnock fought back to draw level at Celtic Park.

Stuart Armstrong’s 25-yard effort gave the champions the lead midway through the opening half but Jordan Jones equalised following the break.

However, Scott Sinclair and James Forrest both struck for the Hoops during a six-minute spell to restore their advantage.

Sinclair flashed an early drive wide while Callum McGregor’s 25-yard strike tested goalkeeper Freddie Woodman.

But the Newcastle United loanee was beaten when Armstrong’s deflected fourteenth goal of the season began the scoring.

Kieran Tierney went close to another ahead of the interval and both Patrick Roberts and Sinclair threatened after it.

Nevertheless Killie suddenly equalised against the run of the action when Jones’ attempt diverted beyond Craig Gordon with twenty minutes of the second-half completed.

They weren’t level for long though, as Sinclair grabbed his 23rd goal of the campaign after Armstrong’s free-kick was headed back by Dedryk Boyata.

Sinclair instantly had another effort cleared off the line before substitute Moussa Dembele struck an upright and Forrest headed in the rebound.
