It’s been a very good few weeks, but could things get even better for Celtic against RB Leipzig this evening? It’s fair to say that our European conquest hasn’t quite gone to plan so far, but now isn’t the time to give up.

If nothing else, it’s vitally important that we restore a little bit of pride when it comes to European competition, and we’ve got a good opportunity to do just that against the German outfit.

It’s obvious that Celtic Park will be packed out and looking to provide inspiration for the Hoops, and it appears as though the players are looking to provide that right back to the fans.

Speaking ahead of the game, James Forrest has spoken about the game and it’s clear that, above all else, the players just want to please the fans.

Forrest said: “We need to be clinical in Europe because sometimes you don’t get as many chances so we need to try and take them”.

“It’ll be a packed Celtic Park so hopefully we can give the fans something to cheer about”, he added.

We’re in a tough spot and so the desire and passion of the players is exactly what we need. It would be easy for them to down tools and give up in Europe – but it’s clear that Forrest, at least, isn’t going to do that.

Celtic Park will be busy and raring to get a good performance out of the Bhoys, and that will no doubt be responded to by those on the field.
