Celtic midfielder Victor Wanyama is on a shortlist of three names for African Football’s Most Promising Talent award for 2012.

The 21-year-old Kenyan international is included alongside Egyptian Mohammed Salah, 21, of FC Basel, and teenage Senegalese striker Moussa Konate, 19, from Russian club FC Krasnodar.

Wanyama has become an increasingly influential performer at Celtic Park since arriving from Belgian side Beerschot in a £900,000 deal last year.

He recently scored in the Hoops’ famous 2-1 victory against Barcelona in the Champions League and his own valuation has soared to much closer to £25m according to his manager Neil Lennon.
