Celtic striker Tony Watt has signed a new four-year contract keeping him at the club until 2016.

“I’m a Celtic fan and this is where I want to play my football” – Tony Watt

The highly-rated teenager has already scored six times this term including the recent winner against Barcelona in the Champions League.

Watt, 18, made his debut last season against Motherwell and netted twice after appearing as a substitute. He originally joined Celtic from Airdrie United in a £100,000 deal at the beginning of last year.

“I’m delighted to have signed this new contract,” Watt told Celtic’s official website. “I’m a Celtic fan and this is where I want to play my football. The last couple of weeks have been incredible.

“I know I’ve still got a lot of hard work ahead of me in my career,” he added. “But it’s great to know that I’ll be here as part of this exciting young team the manager’s building at Celtic.”
