Celtic agree contract with forward as Hoops beat Premier League sides to signature

|

According to a report in Football Insider, Celtic have beaten off a host of Premier League sides to land the signing of much vaunted youngster Bruno Davidson.

The Hutchison Vale forward is still only 15 but the Hoops are rumoured to have agreed terms with Liverpool, Newcastle United, Southampton and Leicester all said to be interested, the latter were believed to have put themselves in pole position following Davidson’s trial period in November at the Midlands club.

The Edinburgh club is responsible for developing a host of international players and current managers in the Scottish game including the likes of John Collins, Leigh Griffiths, Kenny Miller, Neil McCann, Mark Burchill, Gary Caldwell and Gary Naysmith to name but a few.

The Celts had reportedly offered Davidson a contract in October and with Scottish clubs able to agree professional terms a year before their English counterparts it looks as though the youngster is heading west when he turns 16 in April.

Hoops fans will be hoping that Davidson can have the same impact as Mikey Johnston and make the step up to the first-team squad with the Lennoxtown conveyor belt continuing to provide Neil Lennon with talent, the prospect of Davidson and Karamoko Dembele in the same youth team is an exciting one and only time will tell if they will eventually partner each other in front of 60,000 fans in the famous Paradise arena.
