Of all the transfer news on offer today and all the business completed so far, there is only one piece of news the Celtic fans want to hear at this moment and time.
Is Jota going to be made permanent.
Going by all reports, and depending on who or what you read, there is movement by Celtic, but just how much?
With the fee reportedly to be around the £6m mark and talks ongoing with Benfica, it seems that the ball is firmly in Celtic’s court but with all the recent transfer talk of Riley McGree stealing the headlines, the Jota talk seems to have taken a back seat.
Not according to Mark Guidi.
Speaking on The Go Radio Football Show, Guidi gave a one line teaser at where things stand and it seems the move to make him a permanent addition to the Celtic team is not too far off.
Very quickly, Guidi said, “Celtic are closing in on Jota on permanent deal and as we all know, Celtic have first option on him.”
Closing in. Almost there. But you would like to think that the board are very close to announcing this one.
But then again, this is the same journalist who told us Eddie Howe was a done deal for weeks so we will wait to see how this pans out.
