Celtic hero Pat Bonner has issued a warning to Brendan Rodgers and Peter Lawwell if the club fails in its aims this season of more silverware.

A double-treble was secured last year, of course, but many wanted to see a treble-treble this season with the side that we have.

We have needed to add to it, though, and so far the transfers we have made have perhaps in part left a few scratching their heads.

Certainly, Bonner isn’t too sure about the way we’ve gone about things and has issued this warning to Rodgers and Lawwell if we fall short this season and ruin our chances of 10 in a row.

As quoted by the Daily Mail, he said:

“The fans won’t forgive them – Peter Lawwell more than Brendan, probably – if they don’t win ten in a row.

“Given the position of strength they were working from and how close they are to doing it.

“Most Celtic supporters won’t remember Jock Stein’s nine in a row but they’ll have lived through Rangers equalling it and now they want to see it surpassed.”

For sure, I can see where Bonner is coming from and if we didn’t win the league it would need a proper inquest.

I think we’ll be okay, though, and despite recent issues I think we’ll still win the title.
