Celtic will surely want to add more new defenders to the squad before too long as the Bhoys are clearly short of options in that third of the pitch despite the arrival of Christopher Jullien.

With several names leaving already this summer from our back-line – including Dedryck Boyata and Mikael Lustig – we do need to look at bringing in fresh options.

Stephen O’Donnell, if we’re still interested, though, is going to be hard to get by the looks of things.

According to the Daily Record, we have been interested in the Scottish international but the risk of us getting crowded out for him looks great right now.

Indeed, the Scottish Daily Mail’s printed edition earlier this week had Middlesbrough, Derby County, Stoke City and Sheffield United all linked with the player as they look to bolster their squads.

If the Bhoys want to go in for him this summer, then, they had better act quick – though it could, arguably, be a bit too late already.
