Celtic are interested in signing Hearts youth goalkeeper Harry Stone, according to The Daily Record.

The paper reckon that he is eligible to sign his first professional contract, turning 17 later this month, and looks set to leave Tynecastle to continue his development elsewhere.

The Hoops aren’t the only club keen on his signature though, with English Premier League outfit Watford said to also be in the chase for him and confident of bringing him to Vicarage Road to work under former Arsenal shot-stopper Graham Stack.

A regular at his age group for Hearts and capped by Scotland at U17 level, he would certainly appear to have some potential, although obviously this news has little impact on our current first-team plans.

The goalkeeping situation at Celtic looks pretty flexible heading into the summer with both Craig Gordon and Dorus de Vries ageing and not getting regular football right now due to the form of number one Scott Bain.

With Ryan Mullen also impressing in the youth ranks we are well stocked with players in the position, although a revamp under coach Stevie Woods could be on the cards.
