Celtic are maintaining their interest in Bulgarian international winger Aleksandar Tonev.

The SPL champions once again despatched a scout to assess the 23-year forward during Lech Pozman’s weekend 1-0 victory against Wisla Krakow.

Their narrow success was sufficient to move Lech to the top of their domestic league table, although they were still expecting to lose Tonev for an estimated £2m fee this summer despite a couple of years remaining on his current deal.

The Hoops are likely to face stiff competition for his services from a number of other clubs, most notably in Italy’s Serie ‘A’, where Roma are also being heavily linked.
