Celtic could be on the verge of losing trusted first-team star this January

|

Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham is a £14m target for European giants Porto during this month’s January transfer window, according to The Scottish Sun.

The paper say that Porto boss Sergio Conceicao is a huge admirer of the French U21 international and his ready to make his move with a tempting player plus cash deal.

Porto had previously tried to sign the midfielder up during last summer’s transfer window but Celtic held firm and eventually managed to get the player to sign up to a new long-term contract in November.

The Sun reckon that the Portuguese club will not take no for an answer however, meaning the Hoops could have some big decisions to make in the final two weeks of the transfer window.

Ntcham’s popularity amongst the Celtic support has waned in recent months, with some fans feeling like he is not putting maximum effort into his performances.

His potential is undeniable though and there will likely be supporters who feel the club should not look to cash in on the player in the middle of a Scottish Premiership title race with Rangers.

Is £14m a fair price and should the Hoops look to make this deal regardless of the impact on the playing squad?
