Sometimes footballers can be guilty of posting cryptic social media posts to tease fans into thinking that they may soon be seeing them in their side’s colours, others all but confirm potential moves before clubs make official announcements.
According to The Daily Record, Celtic’s pursuit of Shane Duffy would appear to fall into the latter category with the Brighton defender sharing a picture of himself boarding a plane before his brother took things a step further and posted a picture of the Hoops crest – now I’m not a rocket scientist by any stretch of the imagination but that seems pretty clear cut.
Neil Lennon had been facing pretty stiff opposition from the Premier League for the Republic of Ireland international’s signature, however, the centre-half’s emotional attachment to the club appears to have persuaded him to head north and the chance to achieve immortality, regardless of how long he stays in Glasgow.
It remains the one position where the gaffer is light on the ground and although Nir Bitton looked comfortable against Dundee United in a back three, he is a central midfielder by trade and Duffy’s physicality would be the perfect addition to the ball playing duo of Kristoffer Ajer and Christopher Jullien.

As far as no risk signings go, making a move for the 28-year old is pretty close, he has been a key part of a Brighton side that has defied the odds by staying in the English top flight but hasn’t featured as much recently, with the report in The Record claiming that he isn’t part of Graham Potter’s plans for the season ahead.
It could be another busy week for Hoops fans keeping an eye on the transfer window with David Turnbull also expected to sign, yet another indication that the board aren’t messing about in their backing of Lennon’s attempts to break history with his all conquering squad, that is about to get even stronger.
