Celtic enter race for Wigans teenage wonderkid

|

Celtic have entered the battle to sign Wigan’s teenage sensation Kyle Joseph.

The cash strapped club are looking to cash in on the nineteen year old as he stalls on signing a new contract.

Joseph made his debut for The Latics three months earlier and scored a hat trick against Burton just a few weeks ago.

If Joseph refuses to sign a contract, Wigan would be entitled to compensation if he were to leave on a free at the end of the season.

The Scottish under 19 star has yet to attract any concrete offers but has attracted the attention of the Hoops, Tottenham, Sheffield United and our Glasgow rivals.

Speaking to Wigans official website after scoring his hat trick Joseph said, “It’s every kid’s dream to play for the first team and score a hat-trick. It’s something I dreamt of as a boy when playing football with my mates in the park.

“Sometimes I can be a bit off with my movement in the box, maybe a bit too eager to get the ball at the front post and sometimes I take myself beyond the goal – if you’re not in front the goal you’re not going to score so it’s something I have worked on with Leam. We’ve analysed other players and their movement and how they’ve got their goals. I’ve got to keep doing that now, staying in front of goal.”

There is absolutely no doubt the boy has talent but will he prefer to show his skills in the English leagues or chose the Scottish Champions and aim to win silverware and play European football?
