Celtic and Premier League club Stoke City are both interested in Manchester City goalkeeper Angus Gunn, according to the Sun.

The 22 year old is currently on loan at English Championship side Norwich City, and it is believed our interest in the young stopper will be in view to a season long loan next season.

We have also been credited with interest in keeping Scott Bain at the end of the season so it`s difficult to know whether our pursuit of Gunn is genuine or not.

The player is eligible to play for Scotland, with his father Bryan having been capped at senior level. He on the other hand has played for England at youth level so far.

On Twitter, Bhoys fans were pretty hopeful that we could sign him in the summer.

Verdict:

Gunn is highly rated down south, but we will have to see how things pan out. We can offer him first team football and a chance to play in the Champions League. He may however prefer a regular spot in a Premier League team, although it is not certain that Stoke will remain in the top division next season. If they don`t, we would surely be favourites to capture his signature.
