John McGinn has said he would like to be named Scotland captain one day. The enforcer currently has five caps for his country, and is tipped to replace Scott Brown in the middle of the park.
Speaking to Herald Scotland, he said:
‘If one day I managed to get it [captaincy], even if it`s just because the captain has been subbed, I`d be happy! The main thing is to be involved for your country, which is amazing in itself.’
Some Bhoys fans on Twitter have also tipped the 23 year old to make the switch to Celtic Park in the summer, to establish himself in our midfield as well:
I`ve only seen him against us and one or two other occasions but theres definitely a player there.

Not for me, I do rate him but feel if we want to make that progression we need to aim higher, IMO Kouassi is a fantastic prospect for our midfield

N kouassi for brown role BR says only down to Browns form is why he dosent play hard to argue

Celtic will sign Sir John McGinn in the summer. Put your house on it. @Tam_Selleck

Finally, seen so many Celtic fans praising McGinn to high heaven and saying he`s the next Brooney. Just never got the hype

John McGinn and Morelos are the most overrated players in this league.

Find it weird how often I read Celtic fans looking for us to sign McGinn when we have Christie to bring back
Personally I rate Christie more

Broony Broony Broony. Although young Mcginn has been superb too wouldnt mind Celtic getting him as Browns replacement.

The midfielder has certainly impressed since he was promoted with Hibs last season. His six goals and six assists in 37 games this campaign do show a player who is growing in stature, and he does look to have the potential to play at a higher level.
Some however see him as a long term replacement for our own captain, but I think there is still a long way to go before he`s at that level. He has certainly come on leaps and bounds over the past year or so, but I think he needs to show his form over a longer period of time before I`m convinced he deserves to wear the Green and White Hoops.
