There we have it, then, Rangers have a new manager and it’s Steven Gerrard.
Tasked with somehow knocking us off of our perch as the dominant force in Scotland, I certainly wouldn’t fancy it – then again, I am a Celtic fan.
It’d be a big challenge for Mourinho or Guardiola, let alone someone who’s never taken charge of a senior game and I think he could be in for a rough ride.
That’s his problem, though, and we still need to respond to any challenge with a typically professional campaign next season.
Whilst we wait to see what happens, though, let’s look at how the appointment has been reacted to on social media – including the response of our fans:
Steven Gerrard will sign a thee year deal with Rangers, which is expected to take Celtic up to ten league titles in a row.

Rangers now have a bigger name manager than Celtic?
False
Steven Gerrard = 13 letters
Brendan Rodgers = 14 letters

My view.
Gerrard doesn't manage Rangers: Celtic win league at a canter.
Gerrard does manage Rangers. Celtic win league at a canter – and we get twice the laughs. And he probably quits when realizing the promised funds aren't there.

Can anyone decode why we should be worried if Gerrard takes over?
I can only see positives for Celtic.

The Verdict
I do not envy the guy at all.
Great player but no experience as a manager and looking at the way that club is run he’s certainly not going to see the best of what being in charge can offer.
Let’s see what happens, anyway, though I’m certainly looking forward to taking them on.
