Celtic manager Neil Lennon has revealed that midfielder Callum McGregor could return to first-team action tomorrow away to Dundee in the Scottish Premiership.

The Scotland international has been out of action since the 1-0 defeat away to Valencia in the UEFA Europa League last month and has been a big miss in the heart of the Hoops midfield.

The combination of Scott Brown and Nir Bitton has worked to some extent but was a creaking partnership last week at home to Aberdeen.

Lennon though is hopeful McGregor could play a part tomorrow, telling The Scottish Sun: “He’s back in training and could feature on Sunday. It’s a great boost for the team.”

Also fit enough to be included in Alex McLeish’s Scotland squad for upcoming qualifiers, it’s clear his return is imminent even if it is from the substitute’s bench tomorrow.

The Hoops badly need all three points at Dens Park, knowing that a victory will put their lead over closest league rivals Rangers into the double digits.

That would set us up very nicely indeed for the big derby at the end of the month, which McGregor now looks certain to play in.
