As quoted by the Scottish Sun, Luca Connell has said that it would be an honour to play for Celtic if the opportunity presented itself to him.

The youngster is certainly one to watch and could well be an exciting talent for the Republic of Ireland in the years to come.

Indeed, it seems fair to say that he won’t be staying at Bolton for his whole career and the same outlet has suggested that we are leading the race for the player.

In a further boost to that news, then, it seems as though Connell would be more than open to a switch north of the border to come to Paradise.

He had this to say:

“Everyone knows Celtic are a massive club.

“It’d be an honour to represent them if that’s what the final decision is.

“I’m keeping my options open and hopefully I can take the right one in the next few weeks.”

Celtic’s window has been a bit of a slow burner, to say the least so far this year, but there’s still time to get things going.

It appears as though both club and player are keen on this deal, too, so hopefully we can thrash something out in the coming days or weeks.
